Yes... this is very sad... although I must admit (must I? Really? Oh dear...) that when I first saw lol became lulz it bugged me a bit.
I got over it though. Not before I drunkenly scolded the internet (via my monitor) by saying "it's a fucking acronym, not a fucking word y'fucki... wait, maybe I should go to sleep" but still, I managed it.
